Harajuku Lovers Fragrance

I was walking downtown when I saw this huge new advertisement for Gwen Stefani’s Harajuku Lovers fragrance line. It had replaced an arrangement of Anna Sui perfume bottles (pink over-sized doll heads) that had been on display for months. I’m not sure how I feel about Gwen using the reputation of Tokyo’s Harajuku shopping district to sell her own products (including clothing, bags, etc.). To be perfectly honest I haven’t tested the perfumes yet, so I can’t comment on their quality, but I can give you a little background info on them. There’s five scents to choose from – Love, Lil Angel, G, Music and Baby. They were originally released in September 2008 and to my knowledge haven’t been altered since then. Are they seeing a resurgence in popularity, or is this just the start of a big ad campaign in attempt to boost sales?
